Buckingham Town Information

Buckingham is a thriving market town with a population of approximately 13000. Close to the Northamptonshire border the historic town holds a market every Tuesday and Saturday.

The town benefits from many good amenities, including a swimming pool and leisure centre. There are various health clubs and a wide variety of shops.

Other facilities include an all weather sports pitch, tennis courts, riding schools, golf course, cricket pitch, rugby club and a monthly farmers market (held on the first Tuesday of every month).

The University organises a programme of concerts and lectures which can be attended by all. Once every Sunday before the August Bank Holiday Monday the locals revel to the annual Band Jam where the town centre is closed off and the cream of local artists perform until late into the night.

Many of the local pubs offer live music and DJ sets at weekends. There are many fine restaurants and takeaways specialising in international cuisine and most of the public houses offer traditional food & bar-snacks.
